Our tour group includes 2 Kiwis, 2 Aussies, 2 Swedes, and a couple of Brits. Sunday, the first real day (we had met the night before), our group traveled by bus from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Phenh, Cambodia with a ferry across the Mekong . It was a 7 hour trip with a mid-afternoon arrival.
There is a new bridge across the Mekong, not open until the formal opening in a couple of weeks, thus we are on the ferry. Our guide had our group get off the bus and wear life jackets as we crossed the river, the rest of the passengers stayed on the bus. Some rather interesting delicacies were available as we crossed the river.
We saw a bit of the city in the evening and had our first tuk-tuk rides. As the week progressed we learned to like the tuk-tuks.
