To the Rain Forrest
The trip to the rain forest began with a flight from Cuzco to Puerto Maldonado, a flight of just under an hour. Arriving at Puerto Maldonado Airport, I was met and taken to the office of the company providing the tour of the rain forest. On the way we stopped and picked up 2 others, 2 Aussies who had been in Rio for Carnival. The tour group was going to be the 2 Aussies and myself.
Since we had a small group we didn't need to leave anything back, although I think we were all traveling rather light as none of us were on short trips. We stopped and picked up some bug supplies and something to eat on the way to our lodge. The trip down the river was a couple of hour, we stopped or slowed a few times to look at wildlife and birds.
