Belgium vs Korea
Thursday we saw Belgium play Korea in the FIFA World Cup tournament. Our plan was to find some place near the stadium to watch the US play Germany, then head to the stadium.
We took the Metro to the stop for the stadium and went to a nearby shopping center. The only place we saw showing the game was a grocery store where we watched the later part of the game.
The lines to enter the stadium were massive. There were 3 places where they checked that we had tickets plus the metal detectors/x-ray stop. It took approximately 30 minutes to wind through the entire queue, it was quicker to get in than to leave after the game.
The game itself was amazing, crowd was load and excited. Most of the crowd was Brazilian, there were the Belgian and Korean contingent and a smattering of us from other places. Seats were in the corner about 20 rows up, good view of one of the nets. The excitement continued on the train ride back with most of the chants/cheers against Argentina which plays here Tuesday afternoon.
